Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training Program

Next class will Monday through Thursday

Starting June 12th through July 6th (no class July 4th)

From 7:00am - 3:30pmĀ 

Selected applicants will complete the state of Texas CNA curriculum with additional hours in dementia care. Students will have the opportunity to interview and become CNA's with the James L. West Center and start work immediately!Ā Ā

Curriculum Includes: Eligibility Requirements:
  • Introduction to long-term care
  • Basic Nurse Assistant Skills
  • Personal care Skills
  • Clinical practice onsite at James L. West
  • Life and career skills
  • Expanded dementia education
  • Must be 17 yrs. of age or older
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening process
  • Must have two forms of identification
  • Able to work in the U.S.
  • Meet Center's uniform requirements: gray scrubs, short nails, no jewelry, etc.
  • Must be able to read and write English

The West Center's CNA program is approved as an exempt career school by the Texas Workforce Commission – Career Schools and Colleges and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
