If you answered YES to the questions we welcome your application to the James L. West Center’s Dementia Enhanced CNA Training Program. Selected class participants will be hired as an employee who will join our team with the first priority of completing the state of Texas CNA curriculum.

Upon successful completion of the CNA training program participating team members will receive an invitation to begin their career at James L. West as a Certified Nurse Assistant ( CNA*). *You have 90 days to test in the state of TX to become certified.

Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Curriculum Includes: Eligibility Requirements:
  • Introduction to long-term care
  • Basic Nurse Assistant Skills
  • Personal care Skills
  • Clinical practice onsite at James L. West
  • Life and career skills
  • Expanded dementia education
  • Must be 18 yrs. of age or older
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Two forms of identification
  • Able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass the Center’s drug screening process
  • Meet Center's uniform requirements: gray scrubs, short nails, no jewelry, etc.

Selected students will be scheduled for approximately 2 days of new employee onboarding the week of Jan. 24th. 

The West Center's CNA program is approved as an exempt career school by the Texas Workforce Commission – Career Schools and Colleges and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
