The James L. West Senior Day Program is activity-intensive for persons with dementia. Our participants help shape our programming, and many take pride in leading our daily devotional, sharing their talents by playing the piano, or encouraging and welcoming new participants to our program.
Under the guidance of a certified life enrichment professional, we offer a variety of daily exercise programs, music and opportunities for both creative expression and cognitive stimulation. Two Board-Certified Music Therapists lead our group in twice-weekly music therapy sessions, and we also benefit from professional dance instructors and musicians who share their talents with our participants.
Thursday weekly support group from 4-5 at the Senior Day Program center specifically for program participant family members. To receive reminders, email hglover@jameslwest.org.
We offer educational sessions and support groups for participants’ family members and friends, healthcare professionals and the community at-large. Dementia and caregiver education is provided free of charge.
Review the opportunities on the calendar below to find upcoming classes or participate in a caregiver support group for families and friends.
